Energy Boosting Tips

Surely everyone reading this post has experienced times when they had wished they had more energy.  Whether it be to have more energy at work, playing with kids, spending time with loved ones or even serving others.   Many of us turn to coffee, energy drinks, or caffein pills.   While those all give temporary energy all come with a nasty crash and can have some detrimental health effects and the more you use these products the more you need to achieve the same results. Chances are you could benefit from fallowing these tips to obtain more endurance and productivity in your life naturally.!

Here are a few natural ways you can gain more energy:

Increase your magnesium intake.

Magnesium is needed for over 300 biomechanical reactions, including breaking down glucose into energy.  If your magnesium is your energy levels can suffer.  To get more magnesium eat foods such as almonds, hazelnuts, cashews and fish (especially hallibut which is very high in magnesium)

If you feel the urge to move, move!

Do you sometimes have the urge to quickly stop what you’re doing and run around outside? Chances are, you probably have bottled-up energy already inside you that just needs to be released!

By not using the energy we have inside through movement and exercise (some quick push ups, a few basketball shots or running around outside with the little ones), we often find ourselves wasting that energy and succumbing to energy-drainers such as sitting, slouching, and inactivity.

Don’t skip meals especially breakfast.

Studies have shown that people who eat breakfast report being in a better mood throughout the day and have more energy as well.   When we skip a meal especially breakfast it can lower our blood sugar levels which have a drastic effect on our energy levels.   Research also shows skipping any meal during the day lead to an overall feeling of fatigue later in the day.

Don’t underestimate the power of peanut butter.

Whether you put some on apples for an incredible snack or add some to your smoothie, peanut butter is an amazing source of protein that is easy to begin eating now. This protein source is full of nutrients and can greatly increase your energy levels.

Eat less sugar.

Sugar can give a quick rise to blood sugar levels that inevitable will crash and will do it quickly.   The after sugar rush will leave you feeling lethargic.

Drink more water.

Most people are aware that thirst can sometimes mask itself as a feeling of hunger.   What many are not aware of is thirst or dehydration can show up and fatigue as well.  Read on here for more tips on healthy water consumption.
